I checked it out, and it's because only Carthage has ownership of the forest elephants. I don't know why. Ptolemies have ownership of towered forest elephants, bush elephants and both indian elephants once they get over where those belong.

I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image. - Stephen Hawking
So this means i won't be able to train elephant's with the ptolys at all? Or do i need to conquer another region? Or can you fix it? Just so i know where i stand![]()

Possibly you can just add their ownership in EDU. It might be a model conflict on it though, causing CTDs when using them. I suggest you try to find the places where you can recruit the other elephant types though. The recruitment viewer is your friend.

yes, but i think the RV also lies:D... so the forest elephants with towers weren't even ment to be in memphis and Theron? just the towerless ones? becouse the MIC states elephantes hulaeoi lubokoi or sth. like that, wich are the towerd ones. This means that to train elephant's i would have to conquer nubia? That sucks though... i thought t

There appears to be a bug, a mismatch between EDU and EDB. EDB says you should only be able to recruit untowered elephants, while EDU says you should be able to recruit any elephant but the untowered ones. I suggest you add the numidia ownership to the forest elephants in EDU.

I don't think it's important enough to post a fix about it. The historians have been saying conflicting things too, from what I heard when asking about this, so I might make it ahistorical too. What you do is open EB/Data/export_descr_unit.txt (hence EDU), then search out the african forest elephants, and add numidia among the owners of the unit. Good exercise to ascend from noobishness.
