Family member limit

Is there any way to remove the limit on family members? I have heard that you can only have 1 general for every 2-3 provinces in version one of EB. After you reach it there are no more births and no generals will be promoted. Is it possible to mod the char file to change this?

It is a hardcoded RTW thing. You get about a 1:1 ratio of generals and cities before your birthrate drops drastically.

I've never had a problem with this. I always seem to have a ready supply of children or adoptions.

Is it possible something is wrong with my files? In RTW vanilla there is always more births regardless of the number of territories, but in EB 1.0 there are never any births until I take more territories. This also wasn't a problem in 8.0 or 8.1.

In EB, fertility is reduced for some factions in order to stimulate adoptions. This makes the faction leadership look a bit less like members of a monarchy.
