If I lived in Serbia I'd probably have been dead. Actually if I'd lived anywhere except London or Maryland I'd probably have been dead; if I'd gotten to the hospital an hour later it'd have been too late, and even then I happened to be lucky enough to be rushed to a hospital with one of the foremost experts in his field.

That's what I meant by the "thank God for Johns Hopkins".

Sorry if I came off as hostile; that wasn't my intent. I have a soapbox on this subject (public vs. private health care systems) that I try very hard to stay off of; obviously I didn't do a good enough job. Mea culpa.
