You could also try turning off hardware acceleration since your SoundMax audio card uses the computer's cpu for that.

Turn off (or on) software/hardware acceleration

1. Go into the Sounds and Audio Devices applet.
2. Click on the "Audio" tab at the top of the applet. (This should show three sections: Sound Playback, Sound Recording, and MIDI)
3. Click on the "Advanced" button in the Sound Playback section of the tab. (This should open an Advanced Audio Properties box showing the speaker configuration)
4. Click on the "Performance" tab at the top of the Advanced Audio Properties box.
5. Change the "Hardware acceleration" to either "None" or "Full".
6. Restart the computer and see if the problem still occurs.

Thanks m8. I'l l try that when I go on my desktop (on my school laptop again)

Do you think this is what causing my ploblems? It seem like my sound goes first (choppy sound) before I crash to desktop.
