I was wondering if your heirs and generals are all modelled after actual people from that time period, with the same basic vices and virtues attributed to the real person that is being portrayed, are the heirs born in the game at the same time they were in history?. Or is it a mix of real and fictional characters whose vices and virtues are only molded by how you use them in the game? I like the idea of being able to build the character of your factions rulers and generals by how you utilize them in the campaign. I reckonize a lot of the names, but some are quite obscure, at least to me, especially the muslim factions.

No, the Heirs are not the same as through history. The game starts with the correct ruler for each faction, eg William II in 1097 for England.

Then when princes and princesses are born is dependent on age and marriage I suppose. Although according to the manual, if you get a ruler who did have a corresponding "real" person in history, they will have the same traits.

Eg Edward I for England will be a Great Builder, Henry V a Great Warrior.

    HT:

good to see you back at the forum.

wondering if they took representative names from period and its like a random draw when units are brought in, same with v&v

could be wrong, but STW did that with the minor generals < rank 1 to start didn't it?

and the big guys were real - remember that from going to Samurai Archives.

    Great Game isn't it?

O Fortune, most contrary, Of changing never chary, Now small, now great, Appears your state; Just like the moon you vary.

The life your servants suffer Makes wits grow sharper, tougher, Through games of chance Which much enhance Both easy times and rougher.

Lo, penury or power May greet us any hour: Your wheel revolves And all dissolves Like ice beneath a shower.

O Lady Luck, alluring But faithless in securing The wealth we prize, From me likewise You hide, your face obscuring.

I've bet my shirt and lost, My hopes of bliss are crossed; And, lose or gain, I still remain Hard up - but hang the cost!

My pounding pulses crave One smile for me, your slave . . . Friends, keep with me And weep with me: She favors not the brave.

    "Ofcourse"
"Can you imagine that sound if I asked you to?"
    "Yes I can Mr. Hickok."
"Your husband and me had this talk, and I told him to head home to avoid a dark result. But I didn't say it in thunder. Ma'am, listen to the thunder.”

I believe all heirs are true heirs. Of course if your king has no wife I guess that certain prince or princess won't appear.
But notice how the queen seemingly gives birth every year for a while then stops. I doubt a random generator would be able to do that so often and for so long.

Hi Candid, love the game, I'm playing as the Spanish and just got my first Inquisitor. I'm off to France, who just called for a Crusade against the Byzantines. Time to stir the pot and maybe pick up a few French provinces hehehe.
Thanks for the tip Kraxis, I think the queen pumps out the heirs like that during her prime, then dries up. I'm having to watch one of my King's brothers, 9 level general, who is considering a civil war. My current king's heirs are very young, 5 and under, so this can get interesting. This game is fantastic, once they solve some minor bugs it is going to be even better. I don't see myself playing any other for a while.
