Thread: Quite a lot of CTD's

Default Quite a lot of CTD's

I'm playing as Pahlava, and a lot of the time I butcher the Seleucids during their turn, getting a heroic victory. But this leads very often to a CTD, and that's just not fair... Anything I can do about it? Except start loosing troops.

Why is not fair? After your victory the Seleucids are giving you a virus on your computer, causing you to get destroyed. Did you build the Norton Anti-Virus Temple yet?

On a more serious note, put a replay and more information.

Atleast it doesn't seem to be related to the heroic victories, as I just got an other CTD after a clear victory. Maybe it's because of a new trait or ancillary?

I installed all the permanent fixes, but it didn't help. I just had a crash after winning a heroic victory against the Ptolemies. This time I did have reinforcements, both of my armies were led by family members. So now I've had CTD's after heroic and clear victories, with and without reinforcements, during my and the AI's turn, and after both sally & pitched battles. Should I upload the save?

Here's the save: http://uploaded.to/?id=pgsqb2 . But I have to admit that I haven't yet been able to reproduce a CTD, the battles have so far worked at the second attempt. But nonetheless, it's extremely frustrating and the CTD's really happen quite often. It's a clean install of 1.5 + EB 1.0, no mods, and all the permanent fixes. And I've always started the script before doing anything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really wouldn't like to abandon this save...

If you should come across a persistent one, try the trait nerf. I didn't catch that it was not persistent before your latest post, and it makes it impossible to investigate I'm afraid.

Crap. So my save is pretty much fubar...maybe I should return to the Romani then.

Umm... I thought you just said you could progress in your game? Is it persistent after all?

Well...so far I haven't been able to get the exact same CTD to happen twice. I mean, because of these crashes I'm saving constantly, and after a CTD I reload. I've never had the same CTD happening again. But then I play a couple of more turns, win a battle, and bang, I'm looking once again at my desktop. Sorry if I'm a bit unclear.

You could save the game and try 20 turns with the nerfed trait file, perhaps. If it never crashes during that time, at least we'll have a good indication there's some trait problem.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I'll try it when I've got more time, and report back here.
Btw, do you happen to know how I can get the reformed government for Pahlava? I've been able to build reformed pastoralism and advanced settlement in some cities, but there's no reformed government available. Apparently I need the settled aristocracy, but so far I haven't even seen it buildable anywhere...

Sorry, I'm not very versed in the Pahlava.
