sorry mate,but you do make me laugh Sheogorath is perfectly right in what he say's about the tactic's and technoligy being totally different in the ETW era to that of the 1850's or even later in the Zulu wars of the 1870's.
The original RTW started around 270BC and RTW Barbarian Invasion go's to 400AD although don't quote me on this as it's been a while since I've played this.During this period tactic's did change, but technoligy changed very little except for siege warfare.
ETW starts at 1700 where the main armament was the flintlock musket.Drilled and experienced soldiers could load and fire their muskets at a rate of three rounds per minute.
A repeating rifle is a single barreled rifle containing multiple rounds of ammunition. These rounds are loaded from a magazine by means of a manual or automatic mechanism, and the action that reloads the rifle also typically recocks the firing action. The term repeating rifle is most often applied to weapons in which the next cartridge is loaded by a manual action, as opposed to self-loading rifles, in which the force of one shot is used to load the next.
Repeating rifles were a significant advance over the preceding breech loaded single-shot rifles when used for military combat, as they allowed a much greater rate of fire.

1700; Swedish Naval Raid on Archangelsk.

I´ve forgotten date, year and place, but an action took place between a Swedish frigate and six british ships-of-the-line and a frigate, pre 1715, which lasted for hours.

A similar British pirate raid on four Swedish destroyers in WW2, almost made Sweden join the Axis!
