Thread: Converting .flv files to alternative video formats
scotchedpommes 02:27 10-31-2007
Could anyone recommend a good utility for this?
Have used one in the past [the name of which just escapes me] but
the results, particularly when converting to .wmv, were relatively poor
in terms of picture quality.

Thanks.

Canopus Procoder and Nero Recode spring to mind. Not sure if they support the .flv format, though. I'd do the research, but it's late, and this should get you started.

Good luck!

I see there's a free utility for getting from FLV to AVI, which gets you more than halfway there.

Well, after downloading some codecs and VirtualDubMod to join picture
and sound, [available through the same site as FLVExtract] had some
surprisingly good results - certainly better than the freeware used before.

Thanks again.
