Assassins--Great Heretic Repellant!!!

Dear All:

Good afternoon from Canada!!! I hope this finds you and yours well.

In my recent games as the Crusading States, I'm finding that my usual ways of dealing with heretics just isn't working. I was even shocked last night to find that my BISHOP had even went heretic!!! I then came up with the idea of sending my assassin(s) after him, and the poor guy was meeting his Maker before he ever knew what hit him.

I've also sent my assassin to help with the Venetian invasion of Constantinople. He did in one of their soldiers by pushing a very heavy stone on top of him from a point on the wall. Please make sure if you're going to use your assassin for this purpose that your intended target has got his back turned to you and is "asleep".

In closing, I just thought I'd let you know what I've been up to and that I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth!!

Yes, heretics provide almost as good training for assassins as do stacks of rebels who have no character general. Is it true that if the assassin approaches the targeted subject of wrath from the rear that there is a better chance of success?
