I don't think its been confirmed, just 08. Anyways I have it on preorder for 360, cant wait for next week![]()
Is there a thread about this coming out on PS3, or all consoles.
I need to know everything there is about the game 'cos I've yet to decide if it's worth £50. Thankyou.
EDIT: If there isn't a thread, could someone just summarise the most important/interesting points about the game in this thread.

I'm buying it. This is in my top three games list to buy (FSX and WiC are the others, they're both coming for Christmas).![]()
Im posting mainly to obtain a subscription to the thread. Its pending on consoles which I havent gotten the next generations of yet (still use a PS2 from time to time). I am absolutely considering this game for the PC, and wholeheartly appreciate anyone with info on it.

Color me interested.
Significant questions pending:
1. What DRM does it ship with?
2. Is it going to be Vista only?
3. Does it handle and feel like a halfarsed console port?
I just hope it won't be a stupid console port to the PC, but a really good game.

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
Well if your using that deeply flawed logic, that's all it can be.Mean while I'll be playing this on the 360 come X-mas.

Looks intriguing but I'm steering clear until it's been thoroughly reviewed and patched. If it's yet another one of those full price action titles that sports less than 7 hours of gameplay I'll wait a year or so for the price to reach 'sales special' or bargain bin prices.
On the other hand I believe COD4's ~5 hours of SP gameplay is perfectly justified since they put a great deal of time and effort into creating an excellent and unique MP experience. 16 MP maps is a ton of value for the dollar.

I am so pumped up for this game. I already pre-ordered it for the PS3. Looks so awsome.

Perhaps it's just me, but in what way is this game anything more than a Hitman: Blood Money set in the Middle-Ages ?

And what would be wrong with that? I like Hitman, and I like the middle ages!Originally Posted by Dutch_guy

I'd reccommend everyone read this review, sure its only 1 review but if and when it comes out on PC, it looks like a bargain bin purchase at best...

I've also heard from friends in the industry that there was a moratorium on sub 9/10 reviews for 12-24 hours after the game's release. Sounded fishy to me but it made sense seeing how quite a few reviews didn't show up until later on, and more than just a few of them are less than stellar.
Until I heard from a few friends who intend on buying, it would seem Odin's assessment is a spot on, if even bargain bin. If it's got the same horrible console-type interface on the PC like Bioshock, then it's doubtful I'll trouble with it.
Edit - Here's another thought. Keep track of the review scores on the sites, and see if any are later pulled, retracted, or revised later.
Yeah, I've been there. Thanks, I just wondered if there was any more info cos that just didn't seem enough. Heh, guess that's all there is.Originally Posted by RoadKill
I would like to tell everyone to not trust the IGN review. IGNorant's review is complete !@$#!@. They complain how the PS3 version has terrible frame-rate when almost every other site said it ran as smooth as possible. They also complained about things that almost every single game review boards cheered for. Trust me Assassin's Creed is a must get. It will amaze you so much, its a pure success.

Even at a "good" rating, I'd still buy it.
That review had a fair amount more to say then just frame rates, but it is only 1 review.Originally Posted by RoadKill
Mind taking a moment or two and posting a link to a more favorable review? In the end I will wait until the official boards/mods etc but console ports have always made me yancy.
But I am more then willing to read other reviews, if you have them.

I like the Gametrailers review (contains violence of course).
The score seems a bit high but the explanation of the guy and the footage to underline it is quite interesting IMO.

I can't believe your the least bit surprised by that. Look at any video where it was demoed and the guy playing the demo was using a 360 controller.Originally Posted by Whacker

I don't want to play with a joypad, I like my keyboard and mouse. If I wanted to do that, I'd go buy a @#%#@ console. You are right however, it would seem these days that it's just wishful thinking, but one would hope that a port would make an honest attempt to modify the game so that would work on (platform) well. Guess history is against me here...Originally Posted by lars573

Halo on the PC was miserable, clearly another direct port, it was meant to be played with a joypad, the WASD/mouse was miserable.
Same with Splinter Cell 1, I don't care what anyone says, the controls on PC were garbage.
Prince of Persia was a disappointment on PC for same reason.
Looks like this is no different, it would appear they designed the game to be played with a joypad, with no thought given to other methods (like keyboard/mouse).
I have it now on the 360... Been trhough the tutorial and the first assassination...
While I understand some of the negative comments in the reviews, I feel they have been overstated.
Firstly the game does look fantastic and the story so far works fine even (if you bother to listen) why peoples voices sound odd sometimes and all the weird interferance you see on screen (avoiding spoilers).
The control style is a bit different but does work well, though I have not really gotten the timing perfected yet for the fighting. However for the point of this thread, i have no idea how they will map to the PC, you will be using like 8 keys (or buttons) at once plus the mouse!?!?!
The gameplay is really fun, moving through the city doing your assassin thing...
It is correct that you do not need to complete all of the investigation sub missions before an assassination, but they do help, with real world information. Things like the easiest direction to get into the targets area, suggestions for escapes and ways to move around. It could have been better but is not bad.
The scores in the reviews are appropriate I think, and I feel the main cause of the apparantly heavy critisim is disappointment that this is not the "best game ever!". It is not, but is is very good and does attempt to break new ground. A combination of Hitman and GTA. And it does look stunning (for the 360). If the AI is as bad as reported then I am a terrible player, so far it seems pretty easy to get discovered by the guard and chased around the place. The game makes you feel like you are a very capable individual, but you still need to be careful of mistakes or taking on too many guards.
Plus the guards/soldiers outside of the cities are considerably more difficiult to fight. After owning the city guards I was surprized to have one soldier kick the whatsits out of me!
All in all, lots of fun and interesting story so far...
