    Default Problem modding skins

Ok now i have modded many skins in the past with a few errors here and there which were always easy to fix.Now about a week ago I got a virus that got into my registry and it ended up I had to completely clean my PC. Needless to say all my modding was gone.

Now that i got my Pc back i redownloaded all the skins (from twcenter most by KLA in case this is the prob). What i noticed this time around was that at the end of the file names was .tga.dds when last time i remember it being just tga.(example- Corinthian_Hoplite.tga.dds)

I did all the things i did before such as adding a textures folder in the models_unit folder for the dds files.I backed up all my files and such. But now when i mod even one new texture not only does that texture not work but even the unmodded units don't work, i get a CTD when i try to use any unit.I put -show_err in the shortcut but no errors show up during CTD so I am stumped.

I really don't like many of the vanilla skins so any help will be greatly appreciated thank you.I you didn't understand any of this I will try to explain better.

    Hey Trevarian.

This is because your windows explorer options. Before the virus you got checked an option to hide extensions of files. Now you don't have it and for the first time the complete filenames are showing.

RTW textures have been always .tga.dds. but you couldn't see before because that option.

Try to put your files in descr_model_battle.txt without the .dds, just "Corinthian_Hoplite.tga" and it should work again.

Make a search for ".dds" in dmb and get rid of all of them.
