I think he wants pretty pictures of the Bartix armada in formation. I'm sure Blank can drum something up. Or possibly a non-EB formation will do.

It's a... multitude... of ships in a variety of formations. It's made in a modded version of the beta of Sins of a Solar Empire. The normal fleet scales are 1-10 capital ships and/or 10-90 smaller ones, but this Multianna tested how much the game engine could take before breaking down. It didn't break down per se, however it became something below 1 frame per second when going over 20000 ships so the limit is somewhat less than that.
I preordered the game a couple days ago and got access to the beta. Its AI is really poor yet, but the multiplayer is quite nice already (now if only I got a stable internet connection I'd be set). If you want to join too, you need to use Stardock's TotalGaming tokens to avoid waiting for release in february, mind. It's 30% cheaper that way too, at 50$ money or 35$ worth of tokens. Buy 10 tokens and get this along with Galactic Civilizations II, for instance.

Bovi....you got sins of a solar empire?!!
Is it everything a fully 3d rendered space strategy can hope to be, albeit its still a beta?
I've been looking forward to this game for months....

It is not yet all you could wish for in a space realtime strategy, no. Currently there is only one out of three races in the game, for instance. The interface in general is quite good with excellent zooming functionality for moving around the *huge* playing field. Having to pay in full up front for stuff is weird and annoying, the resource model could definitely use some rethinking but it's too late for revolutionary code changes. Not-so-extensive research tree, but it makes a lot of difference and enables many longterm strategies. The kinks of the pretty good but buggy automatic target selection is being worked at. Really poor AI strategy yet, as said. It is really beautiful and many concepts are really good, I especially like the bounty system for covertly enticing others (like pirates!) to attack your enemies, and the cultural influence that's similar to GalCiv2's.
Here's full games recorded in each of the three betas. I suggest skipping beta1 and 2, going straight for the 4 player free-for-all of beta3 that Multianna completely ruled. That's the video that sold me the game.

No, no, it wasn't nice. The races will be nearly identical, big disappointment. Still, it plays well enough in its Warcraft2-like way. AI sucks yet though, but knowing Stardock that will be fixed at some point, and multiplayer is good.

Wow way to hijack this thread Bovi.

As mentioned in the other thread he started about it, it was because there was no need for a preview of formations, seeing as it's released, and I apologized. It was at first merely a joke, but it sort of grew into a hijack. Since he hasn't got a use for it anymore, I went ahead and kept it. Won't post anything more here though.
