My battles are quite small compared to everyone elses 'bout 1000/1000, would probably be more but in my current campaign I forgot to switch to huge.

A ha ha! Rainbows and unicorns! Rainbows and unicorns!
Greatest Battle? Hmmm....![]()
~2000 fucked-up Polybian Romans in Central Greece, surrounded by 4 Epirote Armies, aach with at least 4-star General...
Well, got attacked, every 15 minutes ~3000 man rushed into the battlefield... long story, at the end 160 man including my general have killed ~8000 Epirotes ^^
Largest battle ever, lets see 4 stacks VS 300 spartans and 1000 levy spearman.
What? i had just watcht the movie...
my 1 stack vs. 2 carth stacks in my last romani campaign in EB 0.81aV2....
and i won, but one of thier stacks was pure milita.....
ah well.

Hvil i fred HoreToreA man who casts no shadow has no soul.
One general(Casse lol With "fixed" stats, so they're not OP or UP)
2 units of Celtic Axemen
3 units of Celtic archers
1 unit of Slingers
2Unit of Calawre
VS 3 Aedui full stacks(levies)
One of the armies had 2 siege towers and 1 ram
Burnt down both of the towers.
They're ladders(one of them) got on the walls killed about 30 archers(On normal) Before my Celtic Axes(for some reason I like them) pwned them.
Then comes the real part of the battle.
Unfortunately, I was unable to get the archers to shoot the ram(they targeted the towers)
The ram managed to break open the gate, and my calawre and axemen all swarmed in guard mode to the gate.
My generals fear effect and my calawre's hero effect was probably the one reason I was able to win, none of my troops routed and I was able to hold my own.
One thing that also helped was the fact that reinforcement's take a LONG time to get there, so my units were able to rest and reform after each wave.

The largest battle I fought was with three stacks of my Romanii against Four stacks and another partial of Ptolemies around Jerusalem. I could have crushed the Ptolemies one by one, but wanted to try a massive battle out so I positioned my men accordingly. The AI actually did fairly well with my two allies and we easily won the day.
Uhm, you know, Rome had a Thermopylae in history... 20,000 Romans crushed 10,000 Hellenes, with minimal Roman casualties. Fairly different from the famous Thermopylae.Originally Posted by CaesarAugustus
