    Default CTD in 261

    Hello!

I have a constant CTD in the year 261 playing with Makedonia.

    • Which version are you playing? 1.0
    • Do you have any unofficial mods installed? No
    • Have you applied all the permanent fixes for 1.0? Yes
    • Does it still crash if you do not enable the background script? Yes
    • Have you tried it 3 times or more, with consistent crashes? Yes

    Description:

The game crashes soon after clicking "End Turn" (when "Saka" or "Romani" turn starts). Immediate CTD, no error msg (-show err on by default).

Special things: I finished an "Allied State Gov Type IV" in this turn and a general spawns next to the town but I see him appear and the crash happens even if script is disabled.

P.S.: I tried several times and it's not like I don't know how the scripts and textfiles work but I really can't find the mistake, so sorry for stealing your time with this question.

You really should install all the permanent fixes. They will work with your save games, and fix known CTD's... there is no reason not to. How do you know there isn't a disaster somewhere else on the map?

You could try the temporary trait nerf (among Bovi's list, IIRC). Mind you only use this to get past the crash - it kills of a lot of randomness & complexity about the traits in the hope it's something random & complex causing the bug.

The disaster fix is not retroactive, so there could be some army that was affected by it earlier and are just walking around as a ticking CTD bomb.

Thank you for your report with good information . Could you try to not create a gov4/client ruler, to see how that turns out?

did it, doesn't work. when i run it without fow the last thing is what I guess has to be the last turn of the romans. they move an army in italy, then game crashes before Ptoly turn, but i guess that might be anything really...

Okay, thanks again, will take a look at it sometime. I suggest you start another campaign (or backtrack to an older save that may avoid the circumstances) in the meantime.
