Default Team Fortress 2 is hilariously popular...

...to the point that this ocurred.

    http://kotaku.com/gaming/halloween-hangover/

Numerous employees for different gaming companies got dressed up as characters from TF2 for halloween and sent in the subsequent pictures to Kotaku.

I'm torn between Nihilistic and NCSoft.

Also, since there isn't a thread on it, i figure this might as well be the official TF2 thread. Yay TF2.

And hilariously awful. Played about two hours of it before I got tired of the game. 24 players max? Pfft. BF2 can and does support 64 players. Also, the core gameplay comes down to just scouts vs demomen, or scouts vs scouts, or scouts and demomen vs demomen, or whatever. They also severely screwed up the medic class, making him much weaker than the TFC version.

My verdict: Get BF2/2042, or stick with Team Fortress Classic.

24 isnt max its just the most common ive seen 32 man servers but the maps are too small for anything more

i personally love it it has just enough black humour for me to get my kicks while playing and is very stylish

i have to go with NC Soft for the best photo too that minigun is ace

    edit

oh and scout versus Demoman? my sniper eats scouts for breakfast and soldiers are just plain mean when you use them right - scouts are so weak one good rocket will splat them - a good engineer can really hold a point and a good medic (someone who stays out of the line of fire and partners with a heavy) can turn a heavy into a god of war - demo man is too powerful tho so i will give you that

Stay away from 2142. Too many bugs, too many hacks.

For good BF, stay with BF2.

Kekvit, you've obviously not been playing it properly/on a good server.

The vast majority of reviews (i.e all of them) agree that it is the most balanced game ever.

I've never seen any of the 'core gameplay' that you describe, and the medic class is brilliant.

And as for numbers on a server - lern2research. As was previously said, you can get 32-player servers, and even so, player numbers aren't everything. This game plays just fine with 20 people. Using the battlefield games as a comparison is like comparing a kettle to a steamtrain - sure they're both made of metal and produce steam, but they're vastly different in use and purpose.

TF2 is awesome, easily one of the best MP games.
Love the whole style of the game and the humour.
That said, Pyro and Spy owns all.

I love TF2 but it really needed a few more maps to round out the release. Hopefully Valve will release a few more official maps via Steam.

I will rampage through the servers in December and January...

I hate it when people think more people = better. Many games become a total mess. Just look at 16 v 16 CSS on dust2, its rediculous.

Bah, BF2 on a 64 people server just means that there is 31 people in your team alone trying to kill you.
The survival rate is just too low.

I thought this video was pretty funny. It's called "Ignis Solus" (Burn Alone) and about a pyro who's all alone (sorta).

Gametrailers also has official Valve intros for some of the various character classes that are pretty funny as well. link
