Here is a first for me. I'm not sure what the year was, 255 or so I think. I attacked a carthiginian army standing near the main city(forgot the name) on sardin, which pulled the garrison out as reinforcements. After winning the battle, I got a CTD. Fine, I went ahead to load my autosave; I think that battle was the first thing I did that turn. The autosave CTD on loading just after the bar fills. Kind of weird because the save should have occured before the CTD. Fine, I always save before ending my turn, so I tried to load my quicksave, same thing. I tried restarting my computer then, same thing. Then I tried loading another save game from my Saka campaign, which loads fine.

The only EB mods I have are BI exe and modified Darth's formations. I don't suppose that the CTD could have corrupted EB program files? I am using Vista, so any changes would have gone to the virtual store. Also, I'm playing on Huge unit size.

I tried running the EB validation program I saw stickied, but couldn't get it to function. I have JRE installed, but for some reason it's not recognizing the 'java' command. I don't know how well it would work anyways on vista because of the seperate program files dirs.

I also tried checking the CTD with the ProcMon but I couldn't make heads or tails out of the thing. I put in a filter to show all but non-successful results and compared to a log of successfully loading a save, but there didn't seem to be any great disparity. I would upload the log, but it is 92MB. I also tried starting a new Romani campaign, with no problems getting to the campaign map.

Well, I've been having a blast up until now, I must commend the EB team for an excellent 1.0 release. All things considered, I'm surprised at the stability, naturally there'll always be a few kinks in a project of this immensity. Hopefully, this isn't a result of using the BI exe. I guess I'll cool off and play MTW2:Kingdoms for a while; I haven't even taken it out of the shrink wrap yet (EB 1.0 was released just after I bought it).
