...my MTW campaign. I plan on resuming MTW "work" this weekend, and I will play XL and BKB Super Mod, but I want a taste of vanilla before.
Anything but the Byzantines.
Thanks guys. I hope I can play multi so I can clash with you fellas.

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
.
Polish.
Tough start, nice role-playing options as time evolves (Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Baltic domination, competing against the Rus, Rhomaïoi and Germans...) and the chance to meet the Horde.
.
Ja mata Tosa Inu-sama, Hore Tore, Adrian II, Sigurd, Fragony
Mouzafphaerre is known elsewhere as Urwendil/Urwendur/Kibilturg...
.
Is Hungary playable? :D
the Irish or as the teutonic order =D
"As long as there are man, there will be wars"
Veni, Vidi, Vici - Caius Julius Caesar
Lithuania and/or Bohemia. Lithuania because no one likes you, they'll drop your alliance like that. Bohemia becuase its the HRE miniturized.
I don't agree with Irish. The Irish are really powerful once they have Britian.
.
Hungary is playable; Lithuania, Ireland or Teutonic Order aren't. Ireland was not a unified faction anyway...Originally Posted by edyzmedieval

Agreed. Take quickly Volhynia and Moldavia (for Avar Nobles), sue for alliances with HRE and Hungary and and then go to east, Novgos might be a problem soon after. Don't forget to conquer rebel regions with low-cost units, you may need to leave conspicuous garrisons once taken. And don't be afraid to take Kiev too, 1231 is a long wait and in between, Kiev a rich province (moreover, you'll be able to train Steppe horses - faster and cheaper than Horsemen - the only cavalry choices available in Early with a few buildings).Originally Posted by Mouzafphaerre
My advice: Don't spend time on Vanilla when there are such good mods out. I have tried Medmod and XL, but prefer XL.
Like you I just restarted my "MTW-career" and started a game as the Armenians in high with the XL-mod. A nice challenge.
Currently I am the Genoese having started early and this has proved to be a game with a great variety of challenges: to your north you have factions with larger armies than you (France and HRE), to your south and west opportunistic factions that are churning out fleets for fun (Venice and Sicily).
