    Default What Grinds Your Gears?

I wanted to find out what ticks you off and makes you want to tear an elephant in half. Here are some of mine.

    1) You spend hours trying to beat a level in a game, and right before you win, your computer crashes.

    2) When your dogs poops on your CPT assignement, and it is due tommorow

    3) When you drop your brand new Ipod into a public toilet full of pee and poop

    4) You wake up at 6:30 in the morning for school, and when you get everything ready, you realize it is Saturday.

    5) You read the whole Mcbeth book for a english assignment, only to realize you were suppose to read Romeo and Julliet. (That actually happened to me)

    1) I don't hurt elephants.

    2) if anything bad happened to one of my good friends/family

Computers annoy me to no end. There are countless assignments/projects that I've somehow lost in cyberspace. There is nothing more depressing than having to write something again when you know, deep down, that your second go will never compare to the first one.

    I'll think of more.

#1 The elder not being able to multitask in the supermarket. They wait before they hear the amount, and then the purse opens. They take out wallet. They pay. Wallet closes. Wallet back. Purse closed. Grab groceries, shamble on. 28 minutes later. The senile egoism with which they assume everyone has all the time in the world just like them.

#2 People entering the train when you still have to get out. I cannot help placing a shoulder or an elbow just a little more firmly then is stricly necesary or reasonable.

#3 Slowwwwwwwwwwwww driving on the left lane of the freeway. This, is what SUV's are made for, terrorising people who insist on slowing everybody down, just because they like doing that are never learned that the left lane is not for prolonged use (germans I feel your pain I really do). Get closily behind them, and just don't give them a peck on the bumper with that monster.

    I couldn't agree more.

I get annoyed at pretty much anyone in front of me, walking, paying, driving etc. Common people, time is money, money is luxury, and luxury I can't afford.

I also don't like giving advice. Everytime I do, people do exactly the opposite and then whine about how really bad their life is. I can never stop saying: I told you so! Serves you right, punk!

    Bloody hell, I am bitter.

People who call over and over and want work done right away, yet when the work is done, act surprised that you want to be paid right away.

*Oh, and people who are impatient in supermarkets. I've been torturing them for decades. Seriously, it's a hobby. I don't put one shred of food on the conveyor until the last possible moment, usually the person ahead of me is still in the paying process, which can take a few minutes sometimes. Once my food had been conveyed a foot or two, there's free space at the back the conveyor but I don't move, I stand there like the rock of Gibralter and don't give the person behind me any room to use it. It's not like it's going to make things go faster if they load their food on right away because the guy ahead is still paying, but they think it will and they go nuts. I've had people pacing behind me, trying to reach over and around me, bump into me, pile all their stuff two feet high on the six inches of space they have access too, and some people have gotten so frustrated they left the "my" line and went to stand in a longer line at another cash. Aaaaaa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

I've seen single women do this to. Its as if they are waiting for a knight in shining armour to ride up and pay for them... so they take ages, just in case he steps in.

I can live with that. But I can't stand people pushing against me while I am still putting my stuff on the conveyor I once had a young guy leaning on my cart (boodschappenkar?) while I was still busy and his own mother was watching like it was 100 % normal. I really, really had to swallow several times before I could ask him calm and gently not to do that because it was a bit disturbing and in fact not really well-mannered to do so...

I almost left the shop in rage when his mother called me an intolerant person

The problem is, when I am busy to get past somebody who is driving on the middle lane at 110 km/h, I myself already driving 130 km/h (which is 10 km over the speed limit), I cannot immediately go out of the way for Mister SUV who is keeping 50 cm distance...

You do realise that not keeping enough distance while driving 130+ km/h on the freeway is extremely dangerous

Give me that SUV and a big sledgehammer and force the driver of said SUV to watch...

Not sure if I know what you mean by "grind my gears", but if I've got this right Kylie makes me grind my gears... (particularly when she's wearing small pants ).
If, on the other hand, this is some weird kind of colonial phrase that for some reason means annoys you, then I would have to go with patriotism. Why the hell be patriotic when you can be jingoistic instead?
