Crash to desktop

I bought the 'white label' RTW today. I proceeded to install the game and then download and install the 1.5 patch. I then proceeded to download and install EB 1.0. Once installation was complete i loaded the game and went into 'campaigns'. I decided to play as the romans and clicked on the roman icon. The load bar appeared but the game then crashed to the desktop.
I have carried out all the permanent/temporary fixes with no success. I also used the validation check. The results displayed were as follows.

You seem to have a corrupt install. There are changes to files, or some are missing.
However, these may be conscious changes you have made, to remod EB. See below for details.

Have you patched to 1.3 before patching to 1.5?

I think he means RTW Gold when he says white label, so patching it shouldn't be necessary at all. The validation tool output doesn't really say anything else than that you're using Gold.

There's a checklist in the EB installation validation thread, please try all of those things. If none work, please post your system specs. Also please verify that your vanilla installation is working.
