Hi guys,
I have a problem with EB 1.0 I never had with EB0.81
The symptom:
When starting a new campaign (faction doesn't matter), the game crashes to desktop as soon as I click "Start campaign" after setting up difficulty etc. (and yes, i have -show_err).
First I was quite stunned and it took a while until I realized where the problem lies: Rome for some obscure reason refuses to generate a new map.rwm
Well, I bypassed this problem because I found - after a good hour of searching - others who had the same problem and someone was so kind and had uploaded a map.rwm
Well, good so far, but I noticed quite soon that this map.rwm possibly is from an older version, noticeable by land being visible where non should (e.g. a 4-region-border is visible on southwest greece) and other minor inconsistencies. But that didn't bother me much as long as I could play the awesome mod without problems the rest of time.
Well, now I had to use some of the optional fixes for 1.0 as I encountered some of the annoying stuff, and I obviously would have to regenerate the map.rwm. And well, that of course still doesn't work :(
And I'm also unable to find the thread I found once because for some other mysterious reason the search form gives never results for terms like "map" or "rwm" in the Europa Barbarorum subforum...
So, now the question: Is someone out there who can either tell me WHY the map.rwm doesn't generate as it should or at least someone who can upload his map.rwm for me?
I installed all the permanent fixes ( descr_disasters.txt, Oppida, export_VnVs.txt, Script fixes) and two optional fixes (Apeleutheroi nerf, Pahlava MIC5) as I want my client rulers to stay lazy decadent incompetent bureaucrats who never dare to leave town for a ride or something (did I mention they have to be fat and hate sports?)
Greetings
Senshi
PS: I know it perhaps is a bit disliked if my first post is a cry for help, but well, the months up to now I managed to find everything needed by just searching or following the active community here (which by the way is absolutely incredible :) )
PPS: Of course I noticed the EB Installation validation thread about 2 minutes after posting this -_- . Sorry for trouble, I'll take a look in the described process there first.
