Ok, already gettig the 1.0 version, then ill step back to 1400
Sweet. Feel free to step forward and backward at your own descretion, depending on the results. Notice that some revisions may be inherently unstable or an incomplete update (some of the members like to do operations in many steps), you'll probably know whether it's the same problem if Filemon keeps saying the diplomats are the last stuff accessed before closing everything down. If it's something else, step forward a revision or two (use the comments in the log to see what's happening right then).

I get many of the files, but after a while my brother turned off the computer without my permission. I turned it on and used the clean up option, then I started the update again. But the program said that there was a file in the eb/data/songs/music whose name already exists, and the update stoped. I closed the program and used the clen up option, but when I started the update the same message appeared. So I removed the music file. I started the update again, but it said the same thing about another music file, the name already exists. A removed and started the update, but the message appeared again, so i removed all the music files, and the update went on again.
Now I wake up to see how is the update going, and the same message appeared, but about a descr_battle_movement_modyfier.txt( something like that). I removed it, but the message appeared again, and again. No matter how many "clean up" I make, nothing changes. I was thinking about use this update on an empty folder, so these messages wouldn't appear again, and then I copy the files to my Europa Barbarorum's folder.
Any sugestion?
Yeah, sorry about that. When interrupted, it may leave some undesired stuff, usually the cleanup fixes it but not always. You need to delete the whole folder with the offending file, then update again.

I deleted the whole folder of the texts descr_something, now everything is going right :).

Great, sounds like we're getting good progress now. The revisions in between 1250 and 1275 are mostly to do with the Greek voicemod (and 1263 is identical to 1250 actually), but there's one intermingled change to unit stats and another adding the campaign difficulty description to the factions. I have a hard time figuring out which could possibly cause this...
Could you update only text/campaign_descriptions.txt to 1275 and try that. I really don't think this is it, just want to eliminate it.
Also update export_descr_unit.txt to 1269 and do the same. I am more inclined to suspect this one.
If neither of those provoke the crash, it has to be something to do with the Greek voicemod.

bovi, after many tests, I finaly discovered the last version that works in my computer, is the version nunmber 1273.The log of the 1274 version complains
about diplomats. So, I created a text document that has all the updates from the 1269 version to 1274, where the game crashes here it is: http://rapidshare.com/files/88140493/ebtest.rar.html
Okay, so it has something to do with the greek voicemod, thanks. Could you try to update only the export_descr_sounds_units_voice.txt and export_descr_sounds_soldiers_voice.txt to 1274?
If that works, I'll make a version of the EDU using only the generic voices instead of the greek voicemod, for computers like yours. If not, it's harder as I'd have to excise the greek voicemod in its entirety.

Bovi, I will be away from my computer for a while, realy don't know when I'll be back, but soon as possible I'll do the things you asked.
Again, many thanks for your help and patience :)
Once you get this working, there's a beta version for you to test, if you care to.

Yes, I'll do what I can :)
I did what you said, I didn't find any export_descr_sounds_soldiers_voice.txt , I found: export_descr_sounds_soldier_voice.txt
Without the "s" of "soldiers" , I updated that one to the revision number 1274.
When I started the game, the following error message appeared:
Script error in eb/data/export_descr_unit.txt , at line 954, column 24, could not find soldier battle model for unit type 'yubtseb elephant gnitekram'.
I'll have to test that myself.

Sorry Bovi, I don't know what happened, but after the error, I deleted the export_descr_unit.txt and then updated my EB folder to 1273 again, and the game is running without errors.
But then, I did what you said, the game crashed when I started a Romani campaing, here is the log:
http://rapidshare.com/files/90482640...31274.rar.html
Okay, thanks. It will be more work to get rid of it then.

Okay, now I'm anxious to see if this works. Update to the latest revision, then replace the three files in this archive. It's basically the sounds files from 1273, and the latest EDU minus the changes made in 1274, so the Greek voicemod is cut out.

Oh... My.... God!!!! It is working!!!!!!!
Thanks Bovi, you just made the world a better place, one more person playing EB1.0![]()
I'm ready of the beta tests!
Edit: at custom battle, all i can choose from the romans are mercenary units. What should I do?
Last edited by Stone and Blood; 02-11-2008 at 23:14.
Check my sig for a tool to switch the EDU for custom battles.
Whenever you're ready, go to the beta testing forum to download the new build. Possibly I'll have to cut away the greek voicemod for you in that version too, let's see how it works.
Edit: Oh wait, you can't use that EDU as you're bound by this non-voicemod version. No custom battles for you. Sorry.
