    Here's the problem:
often the FM with the trait has also the "hellene" or "xx-hellenic" trait, making the combination a bit silly imho.
    IMHO, there's no contradition, as:

    - there are West- & East Greeks: Epiros, KH and Makedonia & AS, BAKTRIA and the Ptolemaioi.
    - even if a "Hellene" of, say, the AS gets this traits, he finds the Greeks of either the West or East (minus his own faction) too "clever-clever".
    - think of the limitations of the engine/game/code/what-ever: this is a way to give you FM/General a bonus when fighting against an ennemy faction. How else should it be expressed? And think of the similar traits "Hates Romans" or "Hates Easterners" (spelling ??).

    Yours, T.

    Edit: had forgotten Baktria

Towards the end of the book, the Moties quote an old story from Herodotus:

"Once there was a thief who was to be executed. As he was taken away he made a bargain with the king: In one year he would teach the king's favorite horse to sing hymns."
"The other prisoners watched the thief singing to the horse and laughed. 'You will not succeed,' they told him. 'No one can.' To which the thief replied, 'I have a year, and who knows what will happen in that time. The king might die. The horse might die. I might die. And perhaps the horse will learn to sing.'"
