Hey people.
Is there any command to pass one named character from one faction to another via script? I guess the answer is no?
What I want to do is a Xanthippos char for Carthage like in EB but with an hellenic portrait, if it's possible at all.

That's correct, the answer is no.Originally Posted by Mad Hoplite

On the issue of the portrait, Wlesmana (I think) posted that in descr_strat you could use for faction x a leader that belonged to sub_faction y as you do for slaves, eg:
character sub_faction saxons, Guillaume, named character, age 21, , x 260, y 11
you could try and see if that works for spawn army - I've not tried so have no idea, but it might be worth a go....

Thanks Makanyane!
I did a quick test and added sub_faction greek_cities to Hamalcar in desc_strat and got a CTD, but just because "Hamalcar" is not a proper greek_cities name.
Changing all the references of "Hamalcar" in desc_strat to Xanthippos solved all. He is even showing in the family tree!
EDIT:
Unfortunately, I could not make work the sub_faction trick with a script. When it does not CTD simply it doesn't do anything. Oh well.

We had the same problem, I'm sure it is not possible to change a character from one faction to another.
In my opinion, the best aproach is to kill the first one and to spawn a different character with the same name in the other faction. But you can not choose the portrait of the 2nd one...
Btw, the only reason for wlesmana to use a sub_faction for some characters is so other factions do not use these same names (like Gandalf, Aragorn...)
