Ktadie, you must have 2 Medieval II games to be able to play two computers against each other, either as LAN or Internet opponents.
If you do have 2 Medieval II games, then you should be able to play a “LAN game” through your current dual port modem.
Apparently (from your PM), your current modem is not user programmable, or there would be some kind of documentation on how to set up port forwarding for it that would enable you to host games on the Internet (check your modems manufacture’s web site).
But in any case, even if it were programmable, you would still need 2 "individual" Medieval II games to play the two computers against each other.

Ktadie
To follow on to Tomisama's post above....
You are setting up a LAN game for M2TW
To be able to host a game between two pcs on a LAN or to host a game online you do not require to set any port forwarding. This is because the port forwarding is already set up in your Medieval2.Prefences file.(a text file in your M2TW main dir.) It looks like this....
[network]
use_ip=
use_port 27750
That is why I posted that Firewalls could cause the problem.

Tomisama are you sure about the CD thing? cos i jsut tried playing a campaign battle, and in the middle of it, i took the cd out and it resumed with no problem.. the cd just has the start-up? or wut ever ^^
its the same for other games, i remember when i used to attend lan aprties where 6 ppl would share one cd for battlefield 2, warcraft etc.
my problem is that i cant get my vista and xp probaly connected to each other via lan...
No I am not sure about required use of the disc in LAN games Ktadie, you may very well be right there.
Though it is against my basic instincts to think that TW's manufactures would not require everyone wanting to play to purchase their own game, but could be wrong!
Just doing the best I can with some similar (other TW games) direct experience, and some remembered posted rumor (what can be remembered of both that is).
Reviewing everything: If it is possible to use one game for a LAN hookup, and you can see and chat, then the problem is in hosting it’s self.
Can you host and join games on line with either computer, with other players?
