lonewolf, that unit looked rather nice

black screens from screenprints and in sprites I think could be to do with anti-aliasing settings, either in game or on computer graphics, try switching on/off

    2. To get video replay of battle you need external screen capture program, I think I've heard frapps (?) mentioned. The game movie cam stopped being able to render in patches 1.5/6.

    3. You can import objects like buildings/statues etc into the game, save them as .cas with vercingetorix's script first. See
    https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=60818
for turning them into 'items' for the game. Search for 'custom tiles' to see how they can be introduced to custom battle maps and locations on campaign map.

You can't make all the scenery with a 3ds scene but you can tweak the landscape of a custom tile with the battle editor. Add -enable_editor to your shortcut and you'll find the editor in the options menu. There's a little bit of relevant info about it in article I did for last Gahzette..
Not used mods before? Looking for something small and fun?!

funny how increasing settings can cause weird behaviour, I'd expect it to work the other way around and stuff would work when quality goes up ...

anyway you are correct, anti-aliasing in the game is the problem, guess I'll stick with the alt+tab-ctrl+v method ... :D
