I know that, but the only one that even remotely justifies doing the mission, would probably be Merchants Guilds (for the trade income increase). All the others, with exception to the Explorers Guild (easy enough anyways), you only really need 1 or 2 high level guilds for the global effect (and the second one just for convenience in location).Originally Posted by Viking

Bwahahahahaha! When I saw the image, I had to try really hard to stop myself from laughing out loud in my office!![]()
That's brilliant (well, in a funny kind of way!).
Khaos83 is correct - if the Council promises "a few units" it could be literally *anything* at all.
"Some of your best units" is more promising. Except that they turn up in your capital...
But!
I have cunningly exploited this arrangement.![]()
On the turn that you complete your mission, just BEFORE you complete it, e.g. before taking the target settlement, simply change your capital to the city in which you'd like the units to appear. Voila! Instant reinforcements at your frontlines!
Case Study
In my game as the Turks, my capital city in the beginning was Iconium. The Council of Nobles gave me the mission to take Adana (or some other city, I forget), promising me "some of my best units" upon success.
I had just taken Antioch when the treacherous Egyptians decided they wanted it too. So they besieged Antioch. I only had a few units remaining there (since the rest were besieging Adana). No way to get back and rescue Antioch in time...
So... I changed my capital to Antioch, went ahead with my siege of Adana, captured the town and *ta-daaaaa!* FOUR Sipahi units appeared in Antioch. This gave me enough offensive power that the garrison sallied out, routed the Egyptians and saved the city!
Immediately after *on the same turn* I changed my capital back to Iconium!

Clash of swords
Thunder of hooves
Blood rains
Eternally so.
No more money-eating ships for me! I'll move the capital to a little village with no port at all... Try to give me ships now, you stinking council of nobles!

Pinky: "Gee Brain, what do you want to do tonight?"
The Brain: "The same thing we do every night, Pinky - Try to take over the world!"
Doesn´t work. You´ll receive the ships in the closest port anyway.Originally Posted by Guru
