Default Rebirth, The Tale of The Makedonian Empire

NOTICE - if your sitting there and wondering how the hell i managed to expand so fast in such a short space of time, the answer is i cheated. I admit it and i will probably continue to cheat during the course of this AAR. So if your the type of person who gets offended by cheats i can point you to some other AARs that you may enjoy.
Right now the pleasantries are out of the way on with the show.

“O man, from wherever thou cometh, for I know thou shalt come, I am
Alexandros, who gave the Makedonians their empire. Begrudge me not, then
This little earth that covers my body.”
    - Inscription from the tomb of Alexander the Great, Pella, Macedon

My name is Demetrius and I am a soldier. My father was a soldier and his father before him. All were destined to die in battle. But that is not my fate. It is my blessing and some say curse, that I have lived through every battle I have fought in. From my beginnings in the Pezhetairoi to the Hetairoi. I have risen and now it falls to me to fight another battle. A battle of words instead of actions. You see it falls to me to recount the tale of the Makedonian Empire.

I shall begin in the year 261; the king of this time is Antigonos Agreades. A great general and a gifted leader of men. But he is now old and the twilight of his reign is upon us. It will soon fall to his son, Alkyoneus to lead us to greatness.
At present the empire is in a grave state, we are at war with the Seleucid Empire. A dynasty of usurpers and traitors who seek to conquer themselves a legacy. Pitting them against us in the process.

This then, is our king, Antigonos of the Agread Dynasty

This is his son Alkyoneus, a good commander in the making. Currently encamped in Pontos with one of the famed Royal Legions

Alkyoneus's younger brother Kalos is currently on campaign with him in Pontos. Because he has always lived in his brother’s shadow he is understandably bitter

Alexandros Agreades, currently en route to Antiocheia with a new Army from Makedonia and Asia

Alkemachos is not a royal Makedonian. He is a liar, a mercenary and an unfeeling butcher. But he is the shield that keeps the northern borders of the Makedonian homeland safe

and this is the world in which these heros and villains live -

The Makedonian Empire is picked out in Brown with our main contenders, the Seleucids in grey. Other powers include the Ptolemaic Empire in yellow, the Senatus Populesque Romanus in dark red and the Republic of Carthage in white

It isn't just waiting 13 years for a building to finish construction, it is 13 years for the infrastructure and networking necessary to begin recruiting, training, and deploying various troops. The building is just a building; it takes as long as it does because there is a human element represented by it.
