Default What determines the rate of recovery?

What determines the rate of recovery? - if a unit revives from being a casualty

Weapon attack, lethality, stamina, health points, ancillaries, general traits...?

I think one of my units recovered to 100% after several of their soldiers were burned to ashes by fire arrows... O_o

Weapon type mainly. Injuries received from missiles recover best, then light weapons, then heavy weapons.

Ancillaries help greatly from my experience. And they're not all equal, some are better than others. I posted something a while back that listed each ancillary that gives recovery bonuses and what their skill level was, but I can't recall where.

For one thing, the winner of the battle always seems to get a better recovery rate.

I thought the losser never got any recoveries at all?

    Fair enough, IMO.

And the AI always gets high recovery, at least it does on eb difficulties.

^ lol, MarcusAureliusAntoninus was joking. The recovery rate for the loser is 0.

Also, there are some character traits that boost the recovery rate
Dignitas, maiestas, auctoritas, libertas, exercitus, imperium, iudicia, honores, consules, voluntas populi Romani
Dignity, majesty, authority, freedom, the army, rule, judgements, offices, consuls and will of the Roman People
