    Default EB poetry

were doing poetry in English, and we have to do a poetry portfolio, so did one of my Indo-iranian LC.......
feel free to post your own poetry!
    enjoy!

The Royal Indo-Iranian Light Mounted Brigade
Deep from the Indus and Iran,
    They come upon nimble steeds,
    And with shining swords made
    With careful hands and only
The firmest spears, they charge ahead.

Of Iranian descent but born of the Greek,
They hold the greatest of pride- not ‘fraid to die.
    Against all odds, heavily outnumbered,
They charge, they put forth their battle cry
Terror is feared when they set out.

Swords gleaming in the bright sun,
    They ride to the enemy.
They slashed, they cut, they stabbed,
    Never hesitating
To slay their foes with speed.
    They fell back to regroup,
With their much thinned down ranks,
    Thinned by the hard conflict,
    As most battles will do.

No delay, for the clash could be lost,
They turn back, rally up, and charge once more.
Though they number just a century,
Lightly armed, but is heavy with courage,
The Royal Indo-Iranian Light Mounted Brigade rides again.

This was my poetry contest submission:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Ode to EB

Lo! See as the EB team puts right
That of which CA had made a slight.

    'Quisque est barbarus alio',
    Such is their great motto.
How true it happens to be,
    Even considering the Romani.

Gaul wasn't united by a tribe, ever.
    Not in Europa Barbarorum either.
Know that fear you will betray,
When you face the dreaded Gaesatae.

The Casse must fight for their very lives:
They are threatened by large Eleutheroi hives.
The Swêboz have it relatively easy:
They face weak armies of Eleutheroi.

    EB may be slightly misleading:
They limit themselves not to "Barbarians",
In the Eastern lands can now be found fighting
The Saka, Baktria and even Arabians.

No more watching the Return of the Mummy,
Egypt's army is now that of the Ptolemaioi.
The West has not been forgotten. With disdain,
Kart-Hadastim and Lusotannan face off in Spain.

The East has never been in such turmoil,
With The Grey Death of Seleukeia fighting
Against former Satrapies of Pontos and Hayasdan.
The Pahlav with who they are also contending
For control over the ancient Roads of the Asian.
They defend not for once the precious oil.

    Originally founded in 2004,
They mod the series of Total War.
First for Rome and then for Medieval II,
They dedicate themselves to a period of time,
And they do this modification not for a dime,
But for historical accuracy and for us too!

    They continue their great endeavor,
    And leave us drooling monthly
With their previews of features, units and more,
And their new music by Casey and Wylie.

    Now they work on 0.9
It is but a matter of months, they say
    They don't expect any pay,
And it will be sweet as wine!

I remember I got only 1 vote... Meh, with hindsight, I can understand.

I like yours... Makes it sound very... heroic. AAR material, perhaps?

Right, lets give this a go?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    The Gaesatae’s Lament

    Blood-bright gist-crux,
    wrapped in gore-stained ragy–core.
    Rightly-honed in fire’s fray-forge,
    and set at heaven’s door.

    Yet, words work few wonders,
    over brawlers deeds and wants.
    And under-all the mighty worm,
reigns to render all distorted knots.

Sorry, but it's descent, not decent. Spellcheck won't fix that one.

I think Thaatu's poem made a panda sad. Sad and dead, which is pretty sad indeed.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.
