;Trait: PtolemaioiIoudaios
; o Ioudaios (1): Ioudaios – The Ioudaioi have lived in enclaves throughout Aigyptos for several hundred years, but the Ptolemaioi began employing even more of them as soldiers from the third century onward. While they commonly fought in units alongside soldiers of other ethnicities, they preferred to live in proximity to others who shared their ethnic identity and religious beliefs, beliefs which the rest of the Hellenistic world find truly odd. Their numbers in Aigyptos grew so great that, at least by the first century BC, they inhabited an entire quarter of the city of Alexandreia. Several Ioudaioi also rose to prominence in the Ptolemaic military in the late second century. So while they may be seen as "different," they are also more commonly trustworthy and talented commanders.

;Trait: PtolemaioiGalates
; o Galates (1): Galates – The entrance of the Galatai to Egypt was not a good start. Awed by the splendor of Alexandreia, they plotted to plunder its treasures, and four thousand mercenaries were tricked and killed by Ptolemaios Philadelphos in 274. Their willingness to serve as mercenaries, the fear they inspired in their enemies, and their loyalty to a liberal paymaster rehabilitated their reputation among the Ptolemaioi, especially after they staunchly defended the princess Berenike from Seleukid treacheries at Antioch in 247. They became relatively common soldiers among the Ptolemaic ranks. They steadily Hellenized over the years, and perhaps owing to this and their success as soldiers, several of them grew to prominence in the Ptolemaic state and military. While they can prove themselves capable governors and merchants, they are natural soldiers.
