    Default "Vanquisher of ..."

I've done a search in the forum and what I've understood is that the "vanquisher of" traits are the first step to be awarded by the Senate with a triumph. What I don't understand is the complete sequence of steps, or in other words how many "big" victories are needed to get to the triumph

    Hello.

There is no "order" to be a triumph at Rome.

It is just that if you have Vanquisher of ... trait or the title of Africanus ( any kind of traits due to many kills of one fantion ), it gives you a better chance to be predetor(which is a trait that enables your character to earn "waiting to be triumhant by senate).

So, there is not ORDER, but it is recommended to conquer one/two faction quickly and mercilessly. It will gets you better chance

He is asking for the exact mechanics of the traits I think. Ic an't remeber of the top of my head, but a bit of searching should find you the answers, if someone else dosen't give you the answer.

Failing that have a poke around in the ebbs and export_descr_traits, and see what you can find.

I just happened to be revisiting triumphs in the last few days. The vanquisher trait is helpful but not actually necessary for a triumph. The vanquisher traits themselves are achieved by winning battles (large ones help more) against a faction, taking settlements belonging to that faction, and enslaving the inhabitants of those settlements.

What about imperator? One of my generals got the trait for beating up on a rebel stack.

    indeed....the trait sequence is
    1. "Vanquisher of...",
    2. with more victorious battles against the same faction he will get the trait of "Imperator".
    3. Then he must win even more battles to be "given a triumph by senate".
    4. AFTER that he must travel to roma, and stay 2 turns (or the current turn and the complete following turn) => then he "celebrates his triumph"

    You are right, AntryANgelDD.

Even though Vanquisher trait does not have anything to do with Imperator trait. It increases the chance of getting Imperator, it has no direct effect.

In my case, my 16 year-old general who just appeared at my capital, Roma, had his first fight with 400 Rebel forces ( He had 200 Solders ). After the battle, i checked and he got Imperator trait.

I am not saying it is impossible to get it, it also depends on the situation Good Luck.

wow... in EB you really need to go through a lot to get a triumph... I've read about roman generals receiving triumphs for things like winning against the sardins, which really weren't much of a chalenge.

In history it was more a political thing than a pure gesture of achievement.

If we went by history, then all you'd need for a triumph is for your general to be Consul with a high degree of influence (a given for EB consuls) and win a battle against someone.

Getting a triumph in EB is a mission on the level of returning Alexander's body to Macedonia- something to work for.

I got my first triumph on my first 1.0 campaign, after trying several times with previous versions (I'm told it may have been broken before 1.0 but that didn't stop me trying, just in case) and I was very proud of Aurelius Cotta.
