Thread: Servivs the Crippled

    Default Servivs the Crippled

Playing my new Romani campaign, Manivs Cvrivs Dentatvs' first grandchild was Servivs the Crippled.

I was expecting a 16 year old general of the highest order, considering he was the grandson of Manivs Cvrivs Dentatvs and the son of the greatest general of the Romani, Caivs Avrelivs Cotta.

I ended up with something "special". I have never been so annoyed with a new general. And yet I have never been more impressed at the same time.

    Nice touch.

    True.

Think of Historys great "disappointing" heirs.

    Henry V to Henry VI
    Catherine the Great to Paul

It would be a good poll to see who had the worst offspring in history.

Well, he might still make a decent gouvernor. And his sons might take more after their ancestors and become great generals. One of my Sweboz FMs was also a "Crippled", but he became quite influential and his son is my current faction leader.

Henry VI of where? Of England? He was also King of France. Granted, he did go insane and was murdered in the Tower of London by Richard of York, but I'm sure there are more useless heirs in history.

King John was pretty rhubarb, he succeeded King Richard the Lionheart, lost most of the English possesions in France, was bullied into giving most of his powers to the Lords in the Magna Carta and then drowned in a muddy puddle with all his jewels.

I think he was pretty damn useless.

    Haha, nice trait.

But he still got 4 at management, so without his laziness he would be an effective governor...

Thumbs up Re: Servivs the Crippled

I think we owe it all to the "ignorant wife" trait.

It can be annoying when the eldest son of my king isn't sharp/charismatic/vigorous, but rather dull/uncharismatic/langurous, but I still love it. There are plenty other Royal FM's(same surnames) that are smarter, but I always make sure the eldest son suceeds, despite any obvious liability the heir may suffer. The challenges and setbacks are simply amusing and fun to sort out.

My great general is also Caivs Avrelivs Cotta. At least he was until he died after charging the rear of a levy-something who had only half of their numbers still alive. "Hale and Hearty" my...

Frankly, I consider this an insult:

Suddenly EB has become such a smartass. The shot was taken seven days after my 22nd birthday. Paroditas... hmph. Am I the only one whose game is attacking you personally?

Edit: I'm especially insulted by "disloyal" and "languorous".

I love when You get not so great character but after few years he becomes really great one.

Im my Haysadan campagne I had dull/uncharismatic/vigorous guy that was send to defend his country with small band of horse archers against treacherous Seleukids at age of 16.
Now 20+ years later not only he is the best general Haysadan ever had but he is one of the finest in the known world. He is also faction leader.

In the same time i had a dull/charismatic/vigorous faction leader with doubtful courage.
After first battle his courage was no longer in daubed, and many years later he was brave beyond belive.
I really didnt like this guy at the beginning but he turned out to be very good faction leader and commander.
Unfortunately he was slain by Seleukids assassin
