The known world in 272 BC

Antiochos Syriakus and his son Theodoros Syriakus

    "Father! You called me."
"Yes, Theodoros. I called you. I had a vison. As you know we are at war. The Ptolemaios are a strong nation and they are of hellenic ancestry, but they think that they are the true heirs of Alexander...", Theodoros interupted his father, "I know that father... Why did you actually called me?" Antiochos looked out of the window into his garden, it was a beautiful garden around his palace. There were palms and cactuses and all what you find in the eastern regions. He looked to his son again, his eyes showd dolor.
"I fear that I wil die soon and you will receive my position as ruler... You musst continue the legacy of Alexander. So please listen to me: Our border guards are weak and our allies seem to appreciate it, propably they will attack us soon."
Theodoros terrified, "That would be betrayal! Our allies can't just betray us! We... We must set up the garrison in the towns. It is importa..." - "I said listen to me!", his father interupted him angry, "You shall continue the heir of Alexander after me an I've got a very important mission for you. We must reestablish Alexander's empire..."
Theodoros thought 'Reestablish Alexander's empire that mean we have to send our troops to greek. But there are the Macedons and they're our allies, also we have to conquer Baktria and Parthia and they're our allies too, just as Armenia and Pontus...We shall betray them? This is madness!', he asked his father: "That mean we shall betray our allies?". "No, we're wait for their attack so we have a false pretenses to conquer them. Furthermore you shall retrieve the body of Alexander, which is in the Ptlomaic capital Alexandria. Alexander must to get his grave in Pella, so everyone knows he was a Greek and not an Egyptian! Now I'm tired... You know what to do..." - 'The legacy of Alexander... The empire of Arche Seleukeia is the heir, it is our mission to reunite the empire of Alexander...', Antiochos thought.

Man, I've killed Theodoros Syriakos so many times. Just don't let him wander around with nothing but a half-stack to protect him near Hekatompylos, is all I'm saying...

I can hardly wait for this to begin
But be warned, the script for bringing Alexander back to Pella is deactivated in the current build, and it didn't work in the last one, so you'll have to roleplay Alexanders return. But I think it will take some time to controll both Pella and Alexandreia, the rebellious Baktrian Satrapy will give you quite a headache. Btw, Baktria, at the beginning of the game is officially a satrapy of yours, but it already has a great degree of autonomy. The same goes for Hayasdan. So speaking of them as nations may not be very realistic, but Allies is quite an appropriate term.

    Chapter 1 - The reuniting begins (272 BC - 270 BC)

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The known world in 272 BC

    272 BC - A plan?
'I am 7 years king now and I have to keep the glorious gains of my father... I also have to make Alexander's dream to come true, Babylonia is the key to the greatest empire of the world. I hope my son is going to do this, he must do it!' Antiochos thought.
He was worried, this year there weren't any battles, maybe the Ptolmaios have a plan? He knew, he would order to raise a stronger garrison in all towns...

271 BC - The reuniting begins
    Dear Father,

You know that you gave me a mission. I sent an army from Mazaka to attack and conquer Tarsos, lead by Captain Hippolochos. Also there is an army from Sardis on the way to conquer Side, I heard it is lead by a new family member, Kleombrotos Syringos Hyrkanikes. You know, the two towns are seperated from the Ptolmaic empire and the garrison is weak. Oh and we have some Indian Elephants, so it is an easy battle.
As far as I know Tarsos is conquered and it belongs to us now. The Indian Elephants are on the way to help at the siege of Side.
PS: I heard Pontus conquered Gallatia, maybe they will attack us soon...

    Yours,
    Theodoros

270 BC - The battle of Side
Kleombrotos looked up 'What a shame! Although I don't hate the Ptolmaic people, the war makes us enemies.'.
He sighted: "Okay, men, It is time to attack the city! Don't fear them because they're also Hellens, you should think of the gods, they will help the true Hellens! They will help us! And now fight! FOR SELEUKOS!" The men cheered.
"Ballaros, attack the door!", Ballaros and his Elephants marched toward the doors to attack them, soon they broke it and attacked the troops inside the town. 'What are they doing? I said they should attack the door and nothing else. Did he lost control of them? But now it is too risky to send my troops, they could get trampled down by the elephants'.

'Hehe, if I will destroy the whole garrison by myself I will get fame and everyone will remind me, Ballaros the conqueror of Side! No one will think of Kleombrotos. Hehe'. Ballaros had his plan setted, not even the king would stop him now. Suddenly a spear flew right to his head... Everything went red and he fell off. The last feeling he had was the pain and an extreme force pushing him down; an elephant fell on him.

"ATTACK!" Kleombrotos shouted. The whole army was about to help the elephants, but it was to late they all lied on the ground.
Kleombrotos moved through the door and beheaded one of the enemy's bodyguard. There was the elephant of Ballaros, he was dead, 'He was a good man...', Kleombrotos quickly thought, but he had to fight.

Then he saw him: Menelaos Salaminios, the governor of Side.
He fighted bravely for a man in his age, but old people aren't that great at fighting so he died soon.

Klembrotos army pushed the Ptolmaios back to the town center and soon the battle was over, Kleombrotos gained victory!

'...Sincerely yours, Kleombrotos.' - "Hierax! I want you to take this letter to Theodoros." Hierax bowed low, took the letter and went out. 'I wonder if I get a reward...'.

270 BC - Palace of Antiochos
"My king! We have good news from Asia Minor, the Ptolmaios were expelled by our armies from there, so we can concentrate on the southern front!" the servant said.
Antiochos smiled curtly, "Thank you for the information. So it began...". "My king, what began?" his servant asked, Antiochos seemed to be angry: "It isn't your business! Here take this money and buy you something!". "I'm sorry to annoy you, my king.", he bowed and quickly went out.
'It began. Now we have to destroy the Ptolemaios.

Dang, Elephants? You're starting off with a bang. Wow, rebels sieging? I'm glad I'm doing H campaign. Side is an interesting choice. I hope you do Sidon and Hierosalima(sp) next. Push those Ptolies to the Sinai Desert.

Who cares really. To be honest the lack of infrastructure in established empires is silly. Do you think the Seleucids fielded armies of levy pikemen in the 270's BC?

True. But if he changes the game by giving himself elites, and leave the other ones with their native-spearman-crap it is a little bit silly...

    Go Seleukeia!

BTW, for those that don't realize, blowing up the temple in Ekbatana gives you a 10000 boost on turn 1. Helps **** the Ptollies pretty quick... I rolled them back to Aithiopia pretty quick.

EDIT: That temple does absolutely nothing anyways, it's just pretty. Maybe I'm too mean...

Nah, I'm with you. Boom! There goes the temple... according to the description, someone'll rebuild it eventually anyway.

I'm saving that temple when I really need it. You can burn through that cash quick and it hurts if you realize you spent it on the wrong things. Nah, when I get full stacks coming at me. Then I'll use the money.
