Maybe the name "Iberians" comes from ib-ri (sumerian word), which is the "ancestor"of "Hebraeans" (looks strange to me. Is this really the correct word in english language?
)
Would explain how two different peoples get the same name. Sumerian culture was spread all around the world, to India, to the south of Afrika and of course to the Phoenicians, who traded with Iberian Peninsula and even Cornwall (they called it "the Tin Isles", iirc) also.
