    Its video, no article sorry.

hmm does their opinion reflect those of the mid-east?

Or are these just Americanized girls who dont really know how women are treated back in the birth place of islam.

NOTE to those who wont watch the video: basicaly these muslim girls (who seem Americanized except for one who seems to have a foreign accent) keep saying "I am free!" and are all happy and say that they wear there hijab, burka for the sake of moderation and are not opressed.

Well if they want to wear the hijab, they can go right ahead.

It's just that I don't think they have a concept of having to wear it, or how many rights they do have. It's how Americans are jaded about being able to elect a President or how many rights we have.

    Have you just been dumped?

I ask because it's usually something like that which causes outbursts like this, needless to say I dissagree completely.

Dress codes are oppressive in every case.

However, no clothing is oppressive, without a dress code. If they don't have a dress code, then they are not oppressed. If they do have a dress code, then they are, by my definition anyway, oppressed, no matter what the clothes in question are.

Oh and btw, the hijab is oppression of sex, not an oppression of women.

Like the western beauty ideal of slender, well-proportioned women maliciously spread through the media and advertising?

Let them wear their Hijabs. If I want to wear a "Jesus is #1" finger hat, so-be-it.

I went to Catholic school for 12 years. I miss the uniform. I didn't have to pay attention to how I looked as much as I did when I went to public school.

Anything that minimizes the demands on you to look a certain way; put make-up on, do your hair, etc is a distraction. I'm glad to see girls who aren't filthy skanks for once - even if they are wearing a shammy cloth on their heads.

If you like that stuff, I suggest Persepolis. Brilliant comic, and from what I hear the movie is pure quality.

Huh. You know they make cartoons in color now, right?

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

What's so great about the US is that they wear whatever the **** they want, I can wear whatever the **** I want, you can wear whatever the **** you want, as long as it doesn't infringe upon the rights of others.

    Well (if colourfully) said.
