    Default Game resolution

Does decreasing game resolution for the battle map increase performance? I have an LCD screen so it kinda makes the game look bad if it is below my natural resolution, but if performance is better it will be worth it.

probably yes but not that much, afaik the scripts needs mostly a lot of RAM, the graphic card should be not involved

He's talking battlemap, the script has nothing at all to do with the battle map, so the answer to your question is yes, yes indeed.

It will increase performance a little yes. However if you want max performance from your PC, you should set everything to the same resolution- desktop, campaign map and battlemap.

Have you tried lowering the picture quality from your main GFX card control panel? Most control panels have various default options, ranging from high quality to high performance. Try out these, as it may alleviate some of your problems, without having to seriously effect the graphical quality of the game.
