I'll probably have a new computer in January. A good one. So, in the meantime, there is always XGM and Ancient TW. XGM mod (the latest version at least) really made some good changes. Heavens forbid! But if you ever think of dwelling EB for a second... (if) you can always try out XGM.

XGM is a great mod, I use to play it all the time, but I'm too lazy to make two installs for XGM and EB

I know. It is a great mod. I like the vanilla "look" of it (though much has changed) the best part of all. Gaul's icon as the wild boar, well, just reminds me of Christmas 04, when I recieved RTW from Santa. I commenced to play as the Jullii, than I think Scipii than Brutii, before I knew how to mod anything at all whatsover, and unlock the rest of the factions...

No need for two installs (as long as you don't mind EB cities in XGM strat map), both mods uses the -mod setting which makes them non conflicting (just like their communities)...

Other than that, I have to say that the latest Alex-EB seems to give a pretty satisfactory experience, slightly better speed and marginally better AI.

A brilliant game! Still a few recruitment holes (i think, unless they were intentional), however a really, really polished game.
If even any more donations are required I am happy to help again. Have now played this game more than any other game, ever.

Crash to Desktops: Mixed bag.. on the campaign map I have not had a single CTD regardless of how long I play for.

CTD at the end of battles, unfortunately, seems more common. I can't decide if it is my (now) mediocre system or the game though. XT 800 Video card seems a little low end nowadays, 2 Gig ram and a good sized processor however are fine.

Regardless, well worth the occasional frustration of a CTD post battle

P.S. Using Alex.exe rather than BI seems to be resulting in a more satisfying experience, less moronic naval invasions by allies (usually with 1 or 2 units), less equally pointless naval invasions by enemies and the general warfare seems more balanced with larger AI cities being very difficult for other AI factions to take with the AI actually retraining units sometimes.
One real problem only is now the Silver Death (Selucia) is being regularly defeated by the Yellow Death (Ptolies).

Yes, and if there are more bugs/CTDs reported compared to the previous version, it is what...?

My computerspecifics and procedure of installation doesn't differ to the foregoing. Besides that, with the first installation of 0.8 i had the same problems as i have now with 1.0. Another aspect, after the last update of 0.8 complains about CTDs decreased, at least i can't remember any significant, but what i remember is a thread to give a little stability survey and the comments there were consistently positiv.

Same here. At about 220-230BC there was no seleucid empire anymore. A bit to fast and easily wiped from the surface, aren't they?
    I like to conquer.
