Ok, so a few weeks ago I installed Rome Total War, and had a blast. But, something was off with the folder/directory. Basically, all the RTW files were mixing with other files on my computer, so I moved all the RTW files into a seperate folder (I usually do that beforehand...but for some reason, the files didn't install into the right folder). Well, I continued playing...I noticed that the computer acted as if the game no longer existed, or if it did, that I didn't play it...for example, the Add/Remove programs thing said that I last played RTW on 10/7...which is not true. I've been playing it over the past few weeks, on and off. But I was not concerned. My game ran smoothly, no weird crashing, nothing. All was well.
Well, then I learned of this mod. I was curious, and checked it out. It seemed amazing. So I downloaded it, installed it, and double clicked on the EB icon. It started loading, got to the "Creative Assembly" (red) page, and then crashed. No messages, no errors - it just crashed. I tried it a few times, and it still didn't work. So I decided to just play RTW for a while, when I noticed that there was no sound. But I thought that perhaps the mod interfered with the original game, so I shrugged it off. Later, I opened iTunes. There was no sound, and each song stopped at around 2 seconds, completely freezing. The program worked fine - but the song/sound didn't.
Since then, things have deteriorated. I've tried to uninstall EB, and have been unsuccessful - it either has trouble uninstalling, or freezes. A few things from the EB folder have mysteriously disappeared. So I tried to uninstall RTW. Hasn't worked. It went through the entire uninstall process, acted as if it worked...but I checked the folder, and everything was there. I tried it a few more times, and a few things disappeared from the folder.
All in all, RTW along with the EB mod are screwing up my computer BIG TIME. I'm not blaming the people who made the mod or the game, because this is probably a unique situation. Nevertheless, I need to get rid of the game and mod. I don't think that the usual fixes will work here. Anyone know how I can completely and independently of the game's own uninstall buttons - GET RID OF THE GAME/MOD????
Thanks, and I hope that this doesn't pose too serious of a problem.![]()
