    Default Revange through Assassination.

    Here's the story

I sent one of my 2 princess (I playing as Spain) To marry a Portugel Genaral in their northmost province. She maries him alright...but in the process...betrays me. I quickly train a Assassin to..dispatch her husband. The Assassin proceded to create havoc in their northmost province and killed many of their men. When I felt he'd trained enough...I killed the princess's husband. I couldn't kill her but ruining her life was almost as good...she'll die a grieving lonely sonless widow...Just thinking about it make's me want to smile .

Good job and a nice idea! Maybe i should start to send assassins with my princesses from now on too, so they'll know what happens if they try to dishonor their homeland! *evil laugh*

    Totally off topic.
I like your sig, especially your own quote 'Sons of Mars' I love it.
I just learned that latin 'c's were pronounced hard, like k. The Roman Catholic Church would have you believe otherwise (pronounced like 'ch' in 'Catholic Latin') so:
    veni vidi vici
is veni vidi vichi as most of us have learned it, but is wrong.
The Romans would have said veni vidi viki.

P.S. I myself am Catholic so I do not mean any offense, I am only pointing out that the Church's pronunciation is not true to the Roman version, but is rather an Italicized version (language, not the text style ).

P.P.S. I would like to know if anyone still hears mass in Latin, it has been out of style for a few decades in the U.S. PM me so I don't totally hijack this thread

Gaius Iulius Kaesar, Marcus Tullius Kikero,...
That's the way they pronounced it, that's why it's Kaiser in German, not Zaiser.

    Default Revenge through victory

One might find certain satisfaction through the hiring of a skilled assassin to take out your foe.

I myself am not one of those who uses assassins very much. Not against rivals, anyway. I might clear the area of heretics who cause mischief... (no one speaks out against my rule and gets away with it)

Or inquisitors, witches, Imams, and other troublemakers... none shall defy my rule.

But on the battlefield... I wish to face their best in battle. And I have no ill will towards civilians, diplomats, princesses, and so forth. They cannot defy my will, and can even work to my advantage.

Should my daughter wish to marry outside the family, and abandon her responsibilities, I will make it a point of eliminating that ruling family, and she will have no choice but to return to mine. I may in fact let her husband live, should he swear an oath of allegiance towards me.

I may be ruthless, I may take advantage of my opponent's weaknesses... but exterminations, executions, and ruthless assassinations are rare under my rule.

When dealing with public order problems and rebellion, I tend to sack. There are fewer who die, and they only die because they refuse to hand over their homes and possessions and accept my rule.

I'm not quite chivalrous as a leader... no, I am indeed a dreadful, oppurtunistic, backstabber. I am a feared ruler, and a military mastermind. But I am not a butcher of children, nor a cowardly slayer in the shadows.

    That's how I roleplay.

    No Hitler, I.... Just Caesar.

I tend ti agree with you in some area's but..I prefer to attack from the shadows and kill there rulers and their best...and then face the sniviling remants in battle. When some one Heretic or other wsie speaks out against me or inturupts my trade..they simply vainish as if they never were.

    A small request...

For the sake of neatness, I tend to surround the quotes of those I am referring to in spoilers. I reply with quote, and then highlight their message and hit the B (right side) spoiler button. Just makes everything look better.

    What do you guys think?

    Too nit-picky, or good suggestion?

If it's a smaller quote, I don't bother. Except sometimes out of habit. It makes it easier to quickly read all the posts in a thread.

I'll have to start doing that.

How do you post spoiler tags?

And on topic, I notice even though we're both Tyrant's we both mantain our rule diffrently, I strike from the shadows and "Take care of" those who would defy me..and you face them in open battle and rarely strike from the shadows.

When you reply with quote, there is a toolbar just above your text box. On the right hand side, there should be a "quotation" balloon, a pound sign, the HTML tag icons, the php tag wrap icon, then what looks like a "BOLD" icon (identical to the one on the far left).

The second "bold" icon (large B) is the spoiler button. Highlight whatever you want in spoilers (all of it, or else it will look funny), and then hit that second B button.

Yes, I am a tyrant in the form of an autocratic, militaristic expansionist, supreme dictator. However, I also see certain things as being beneath a great leader such as myself. I hate getting my hands dirty with assassinations and the blood of innocents.

I would rather fight as a soldier, on the battlefield, and allow those who fight for their lands a chance to defend them as men.

Some tyrants, such as yourself (remember, we're roleplaying now) do not mind the stain of blood of the innocents on your hands.

For me, the only crime is opposing my rule and law. Should you submit to my will, you should not die. For yourself, the act of vengeance and brutal murder of the innocent brings fear into the hearts of your people, and other peoples.

I rule with fear and respect, brutal discipline, military might, and my legal authority. You rule with fear and loathing, brutal murder, cloak and dagger, and terrorism.

It's just a game, but they are radically different playing styles. Still, I wouldn't want to be a citizen of either of our empires... lol.

If I had to pick one, it might be mine. People might hate me for being a bad guy, but they also respect me for being a lawful leader.

Your tactic in mantaining your rule are intresting, IO rarely Sack cities I always occupy them and leave the population alone.

Unlike you, I prefer to kill form the shadow's in doing so I prevent open war fare with those whom I am striking against. I use my Assassins To soften up the enemy (Killing genarals, captains, priests, Agents, etc). I have one Assassin Gorgougu The Killer (I think that's his name) Who earned his name by killing enemy merchnets, Cardinels, and Genarals and a princess or two.

I rule through fear of force rather then force itself. Don't get me wrong I can raise huge armies quickly and am an excellent taction..how ever unlike some king's..I have no concept of honour I do what ever it takes to win..no matter what. There is one thing I do not abide though..Slavery I do not make enemy citizeins slave's under ANY curmstances.

On side note I wonder who'd win if both of our empire's went to war...It'd be bloody to be sure.

I kill diplomats, princesses and priests because I like to watch AI movements but for some reason pointless head-bobbing by diplomats and princesses are not accelerated and does not show the diplomacy window at all...
