    Default Trade: Possible With Enemy?

    Hey guys...

I've seen many replies to my other threads...I'm sorry for being so out of touch with these threads the past few days. I don't mean to be rude, I'm just heavily engaged in this campaign and have been fine tuning a 2 front offensive for the past few days.

Quick Question: Can I continue trading with the provinces of a faction that I am at war with? I understand the rules of trade and therefore obviously understand that I can't trade through any blockaded/enemy held tiles- but hypothetically if I have destroyed their whole navy and have the unblocked trade link that I need...is it possible to sell goods to a province being held by a faction I'm at war with?

On the flip, can I expect that province to continue selling goods to my provinces if it was previously during peacetime?

Thank You ...I'll be back around one night soon here to catch up.

No, you cannot trade with factions you're at war with (regardless of whether you've cleared out their navy).

I'm not sure what you're asking on this one. Could you clarify?

If the faction you're at war with doesn't border you, one trick is to pull out ships from their sea lane and you will get a auto-ceasfire.

Although it would be unofficial does no trade at all exist?

You cannot trade with factions you are at war with and they of course cannot trade with you - whether the route is blockaded or not.

blackboard is correct in that removing your ships or mutual borders (in other words breaking off all contact) will result in a ceasefire. Though this will not take immediate effect. You will have to end the turn first and then again in order for the game to register one entire year without contact. A ceasefire or desintegration of the faction in question is your only hope to re-establish trade.

"Local Trade" is not trade with neighbouring provinces over land, it is in fact a default income produce by the trader building and based on the values of trade goods in the province itself.

"Import tax" is a small percentage you make from rival factions' overseas trade with your faction. By default I think this is 20%.

i can confirm that 20% import tax
local trade is basically the province trading in itself
if you wanna see where youre gettign the money from the trade from then clcik the coins icon to bring up the money scroll thingy then click the province name and it comesup with all the trade details

Basically (and it's been answered) can I expect any income I'm receiving as a result of my enemy's ability to sell goods to my ports to cease when I go to war with them.

Me trading to them= my trade profits, their import profits

Them trading to me= their trade profits, my import profits

I just wanted to make sure that both ends of the "circuit" would either remain open or closed while at war. As I assumed, both ends become closed during war other than in a state of ceasefire caused by loss of border/sea contention.

That's all... and thank you for all of the input guys...

Regarding the auto ceasefire: Happened with Sicily and myself a few years ago. Since there were no more "contested" sea tiles and they were (are) confined to just Malta, the state of war was lifted. Reasonable to me...
