Personally I don't have anyone set to ignore, nor do I see the need for it. Moderators will deal with problem posters, spammers and spambots so IMHO it's a useless feature.

Why? The mods are there for a reason, and generally are able to deal with a problem quickly enough.
And, who would you want to ignore, un-ignore, ignore again? What's the point?
And, anyway, loading up the User Profile lets you see the stupidities the user has put on. Then you can ignore him with better reason.
