Well, my work isn't over yet, Although, the graphic shield and weapon aesthetic surgery is over, now I'm working on the added units that are app. 40. app. 15 from BKB's supermod, and 25 of my own. Obviously the new units will have the renewed graphics, including Bkb's later I will give you a list of them.

Good news!
Viking Horde gave me his permission to release my unofficial Tyberius 1.0 patch for MTW-VI-XL 3.0 mod, so just wait for it to be finished.
Thats great news...cant wait
Hi Tyberius, wow 40 new units! I can't wait to see your list
FANTASTIC .....
this should jazz up my MTWXL campaigns.
'Only the Dead Have Seen the End of War' Plato
'Ar nDuctas' O'Dougherty clan motto
'In Peace, sons bury thier fathers; In War, fathers bury thier sons' Thucydides
'Forth Eorlingas!' motto of the Riders of Rohan
'dammit, In for a Penny, In for a Pound!' the Duke of Wellington
Sadly, I'm affraid that any preexistent campaign will be messed up due to the new units, since the non combat units such as agents, crusades, ships and mounts have been "pushed" down beyond the 256 row, so there will be fleets on top of lands and no agent will work properly. But a new campaign would work just perfectly.Originally Posted by Hound of Ulster

My mouth is watering at the thought of all those new units...
which of the units are faction specific/era specific and which can you recruit with all factions in all campaigns.
I'll make an extended list including, faction, homeland and period.Originally Posted by Hound of Ulster
By the way, feel free to propose alternate names for the units shown, any help will be welcome.
By Gocho do you mean Gaucho?
And for Feudal Knights what do you think about adding a small pennon to the lance with the faction colors on it?
Wow, Tyberius, you've really outdone yourself. I particularly like the idea of a Cuman horse archer, always felt they deserved one.
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

and for the pennon, Its not a bad idea, it should be drawn attached to the lance on every frame of the unit .bif and could be different on each frame so it could wave..
wow I didn't think you could animate it. It seems like it would be a real pain getting it to synch up with the weapon. It will really wow people though.
Btw here's something i whipped up in a few minutes for laughs.
Keep up the good work!!

1. Algerian LancersOriginally Posted by Tyberius
During Middle Ages today Algeria was called "al-Magrib al-Awsat" (meanwhile today Morocco was called "al-Magrib al-Aqsa" and Tunisia was "Ifriqiya"). If you name this unit as "Algerian Lancers", you are utilizing a modern concept which is not appropriate for this period. Instead you could use the names of the Berber tribal confederations of the Magrib for this unit (and others): Sanhaja, Zanata, Lamtuna, Masmuda...
19. Castilian Spearmen
In the Iberian kingdoms (and many others) town militias were the bulk of the infantry. Good names for this unit could be "Concejo Militia"/"Milicia Concejil" or "Peones concejiles" ("peón" is the common term for an infantrymen in medieval spanish). But towns/concejos also provided an important type of mounted warrior, the "Caballeros Villanos".
While we're on the subject, would lancer be an appropriate term for these units? To me lancer is a western term that applied only to late medieval/renaissance heavy cavalry.
But this really depends on how picky you want to be.
Not knowing about some people's history may be a problem sometimes. I named this cavalry on the province from it raises, but to be more accurate and not too picky I will rename it "Berber Lancers" as a representative of any tribe.Originally Posted by Belisario
Renamed as "Milicia Concejil"Originally Posted by Belisario
Maybe "lancer" is a too western term but the name is given for the way the unit fights. they fight as lancers. If someone could give me the arabic word for lancers (in our alphabet obviously) gladly I'll rename it, For now I'll call them Berber Cavalry.Originally Posted by Chainface

Wise decision. What shield will bear this unit? The typical Berber shield was the adarga (Arabic "al-daraqah"), originally a round leather shield, then heart shaped. Wikipedia article:Originally Posted by Tyberius

How far are you from releasing the patch for the mod?
Progress Info:
Units Finished: Textures, Items, Info pics, Unit icons, Review panel icons, Prod.txt files. all done.
Now Working:Startpos files
Startpos!? You don't need to work on that! Just upload what you've done. No messing about with the that.
Also, what are you editing in the startpos?
Is this going to turn into a whole campaign or something?

Nope, I'm only Adding some of the new units to the starting of early, high, and late xl campaigns, mainly to rebel provinces. On the other side, my patch also includes new flags and shields, and some faction colour changes. Be patient, it won't take a long.Originally Posted by Raz
Tyberius, I have a question about the unit names.
13. Why Balcanic warriors and not simly 'Balkan Warriors'
37. Here I'd reccommend 'Pecheneg Cavalry', the term Pecheng isn't used so often.
For the next one I'm kinda nitpicking so you can ignore this one if you want :D
36. It's actually KhwarEzmian not KhwarAzmian
... sorry... just had to point that out ... :P
Balcanic is a modern term, I agree, Indeed the unit is called Balkan Warriors on the patchOriginally Posted by Afsin
Pecheng, Pecheneg, Pechenig, and so on....... vote for the best name xD
The proper name is Khwarezmid, not Kharazmian, nor Khwarezmian, but since in the original vanilla MTW they are called Khwarazmian, I just left it that way...
