    Default Neitos, Brihentin, and Eburonum.

    Hello guys,

I've just taken Eburonum as the Arverni, and discovered that in there, I only have alliance available, so I built a Gov 3. But yet, according to the recruitment viewer, I am told that I can train Brihentin, which is only available with a top-level Gaulish factional MIC, in there! And what's even stranger is that though I can train Brihentin, I can't train Neitos there even though Neitos come from a lower MIC level. It doesn't seem to make any sense that I can train elite noble Celtic cavalry in a supposedly Celtic area but I can't train their main-line standard soldiers. Is it the recruitment viewer or the game that's providing the discrepancy? Can I or can I not train Brihentin and Neitos in Eburonum?

Oh, and before anyone asks, yes, I am in the Time of Soldiers. I am already running around with Mairepos, Solduros, Neitos, Brihentin and Arjos. I was just wondering whether I would be able to use Eburonum as a springboard for further conquests in the Balkans with Gallic troops, or would I be forced to use my Latins, Greeks and Illyrians...

I think the Neitos are elite Gallic infantry and the Brihentin are elite Celtic cavalry. The Brihentin are there alone because the region is nonGallic Celtics... or something along those lines.

The reason that there are Brihentin even though you can't always recruit them is because unit possitions in the regions, MICs, and governments don't always work out. You can't establish firm control, so you shouldn't get elites, even though they are possible if you acheive the impossible. There are many things like this in the recruitment that are either mistakes, things that have been changed, or things that are there just in case things change in the future.

Uh...so is this a mistake that was, or a mistake that is? I still don't get it... Does this mean in future Eburonum is going to somehow get a homeland government, or that the Brihentin are all a mistake and that from here on in it's regionals ftw?

No. Remember those widespread, whispered stories of strange dangers to strangers that lurk in the forests... ?

Ah well. No brihentin then. To think I annihilated the Sweboz to get the city... The five fullstacks I crushed around the city to conquer it... And only for a Gov 3... Oh, the blood on my hands...

Looks like the Balkan conquest will have to be staffed by Romans and Greeks, then. At least they have the excellent Lonchophoroi Hippeis!
