you mean against Pyrrhus' stack ?
if I understand correctly, you're now left with Roma and the cities up north.

if you're early in the campaign, you should consider restarting it
there's a hill south of Capua, this is where you should bait his stack, and if you got a little time, train a few velites/slingers to complement your starting army.

    or,
wait for him to seize one of your city and in the meantime, take his southern foothold. Pyrrhus won't be able to replenish his troops that quickly. He's now vulnerable to seige and famine.

Unfortunately, with the AI naval invasions now turned on, there's no island where you can hide and prepare your revenge.

Could you provide more info about your current situation, that'll be a great help to give you you some kind of recovery plan.

I lost before you posted Pyrrus defeated my stack with minimal deaths and just penned in my generals before i could recruit. He was joined bu a roman rebels stack and another greek independant stack lost within another hour

    right

right from the start of the campaign, if you don't succeed in baiting Pyrrhus into an uphill battle and crushing his stack, then take it the other way around.

fall back with all your forces to Roma, make sure you leave no governor in Capua and Cannae.
    then wait
wait for him to siege and seize a town (he can do that quickly thanks to his spy)

Sure, he's got a town, you're in the red but now the settings for battle has changed; strave his troops with your own.
and make sure to send some troops down south to deal with any relief force the indie greeks could send.
