Sup medieval lovers. I dont use this sub-forum since my lair is the EB one, but there was always a question about medieval i wanted to have answered. How can you improve your reputation? I remember playing a game as HRE, never declaring war on anybody, offering ceasefires and i was STILL considered 'very untrustworthy!' could one (or more) of you medieval veterans explain? cheers.

trustworthiness is built on promise kept. People who never made promise nor piss off any one are very untrustworthy.

There are no "reputation" or "trustworthiness" stats in MTW. If you're referring to alliances then generally the AI will keep those alliances it forged first in preference to newer ones, but it will still break alliances at the drop of a hat if it sees an opportunity to take one of your provinces. It also depends on your size. Once a faction gets very big the AI factions will then not want to ally with it nor will they want to marry into it's royal family.

Hey Long Lost Caesar. Good to see you here in this sub-forum.

(Before i say anything, my Romani VIDEO AAR Season1 Chapter4 is released. Check it out at EB AAR section )

Okay, you basically have to "do" everything that other nations around you ask you to do.(In terms of diplomacy and military actions)

Yes, it is hard to keep your reputation.
or you can also give them some gold to a little improve your reputation.

It sounds like you're referring to Medieval 2, not MTW. Thread moved to Citadel.

Also, don't forget good relations/Chivalrous leader affect your reputation as well. So having bad relations over a period of time (such as on harder difficulties where its always dropping towards the lowest level) could be a major cause of a bad reputation. You almost literally have to be losing the game in order to maintain a decent rep, since being well off tends to make the AI more aggressive to you (like with a single ship raiding a port for no apparent reason. They will do that if they consider you too well off, even if going to war with you is a completely stupid idea).

Keeping promises is not the only solution. In a Kingdom game as the Danes, I never broke any promises and only attacked one catholic country. I had perfect relations with the Pope and was still despicable. I think sacking and eliminating factions lowers your rep significantly.

The fastest way to improve your Reputation is to Occupy Captured Cities and not to Sack them. After that it is not braking alliances. Other than that capturing cities and keeping them is the only other thing I can put a finger on.
