    Default OT: Aquaria

Aquaria was recently released, and is a very nice game which I highly recommend. It won the grand prize at the Independent Games Festival.

It's nothing like EB though, so those who want to check it out do that and the rest can just ignore this thread and let it sink into the depths.

There is a demo that will easily take you 1-2 hours to complete here.

Speaking of independent games, have you guys heard of/tried Mount&Blade? I bought it right away after merely playing the tutorial (and reading 40 pages of ORGah praise ). It reminds me a lot of Cutthroats and Sea Dogs, two of my most favourite games, but beats them all with its realism.

I'm surprised how many people have heard of it - The last days LOTR mod for it alone now has over 10000 downloads.

I really like M&B I saw some Celtic mods got started but never finished I'd love to see a sort of EB M&B pitting horse archers vs Celts Greeks etc.

I really love playing as a horse archer character the joy of launching an arrow at full gallop into an enemies face at long range and watching him drop dread is... great. That is if your playing without the crosshairs and extra help.

I'll also check out Aquaria seems a type of game that's been gone since... Rayman I guess.

    M&B Hijack

It's a great game, 'though. Plenty of mods, as well. There's even a Peloponnesian Wars one being worked on, which should be very realistic.

I don't really see the resemblance between Aquaria and Rayman. It's got plenty of innovation, but if I had to make a comparison, I'd probably put it closer to Solar Winds.

I somehow got that vibe from the screenshots . I'll see how it really is.
