Speaking of defragmenting, I have a question. Will defragmenting my hard drive keep my old files and programs in their proper structure, etc.?
I'm fairly sure I know how to defragment, but I, who has built a computer from scratch, has never defragmented a hard drive. Anything I should be aware of? How often should I defragment?
Regular defragmentation should be done. I dont know of any missing file by using the program.
To make a good defrag, you need the 15% of your HD space free.

To my knowledge, everything will remain as is. The location of the files on the actual hard drive will be the only thing that is change. I have never noticed anything go wrong when defragmenting.Originally Posted by Evil_Maniac From Mars
