have you any other mods installed?

are you sure that you have followed the isntall instructions correctly?

install RTW
patch to 1.3
patch to 1.5

install EB 1.0 into the RTW directory

my game is at 1.5. I have another mod but I'm not using it as the data right now. I am using a fresh vanilla data.

I've got RTW gold edition and have the same problem. I've check the matter ant there is no such file in EB's data folder whereas it appears in the original game's folder.

I used to have this problem in 0.8 with gold edition. I fixed it by copy and pasting the file from vanilla RTW. I don't know if this messes up the new 1.0 skies though. I think it could have been caused by installing EB to the file Activision rather than The Creative Assembly. reinstall and try changing it to install to "The Creative Assembly" rather than "Activision".

EB is 100% compatible with the gold edition.

I think it could have been caused by installing EB to the file Activision rather than The Creative Assembly. reinstall and try changing it to install to "The Creative Assembly" rather than "Activision".

EB needs to be installed into the RTW directory
(for example c:\program files\Activision\Rome: Total War)

so do I just move all of my rome total war game to activision or just the mod?

I created an activision file and copied The EB file to it. It seemed to start fine but when I chose Roma it took a long time to load (normal I think) and then when it started to go to the campain map the sound started repeating and it went to a blue screen

Gold edition installs to The Creative Assembly whereas EB installs to the folder Activision. While installing EB and it asks you where to install it, change
c:\program files\Activision\Rome: Total War
to
c:\program files\The Creative Assembly\Rome: Total War
