It's a point of view thing. I enjoy a challenge, but not the kind where an enemy hastati can plow through my hoplites from the front of the phalanx. And not when the Dacians, or the Gauls send full stacks every other turn.

And cheat codes might actually enhance a game experience. For example, having a treasury over 50000d will make your family members corrupt, but maybe you want to save that money for bribery or something. So to represent money being hoarded away, I might use subtract, say, 20000d off my surplus, keep track, and put that money back into the game when it's needed. It just doesn't make sense for a guy who has a 'firm personal morality' to suddenly get described as 'when money flows through his hands, some sticks to his hands'.

I've never tried the cheat codes for RTW though, mostly because I think most of them don't work for my version. For some reason.
