Hay! It is interesting that they are already working on the second game with the engine. Doubtless they have already planed the expansions for both too. So now we have not one new game but two….and no release date for the first one, just speculation.

I believe you. I found info from reliable sources, that showed that RTW 2 is/will be in development. And it was even before I knew anything about E:TW. Rome: Total war on a new engine and with new improvements should be the totally perfect game from Total war series

It would be wise move to make RTW2, because imo RTW had more sales compared with MTW2, though I might be wrong.

Ozzman, ah I see you found some of the rumours from before Leipzig Games Festival when we announced Empire. Before the festival there were rumours of Rome 2 as our next product which were based on these comments by a SEGA rep:

“…We’ve got the Creative Assembly guys doing Medieval and the follow along to Rome which we haven’t announced yet.”

Which sounds like it's saying Rome 2, until you consider this:

Empire is being made by the UK team who did Shogun, Medieval and Rome, and not the Australians who did Medieval II. So Empire is the follow up to Rome from the UK studio.

I wouldn't be so pessimistic. They probably had more time to devote to the next project while Australian studio took care of M2:TW. Hopefully....
